How does the challenge work

The challenge kicks off on November 24 and concludes on January 19.

All users of the CrewLAB app will be enrolled and grouped into squads (smaller teams within the main team) automatically two weeks before the start date, on November 10.

For latecomers, squad creation can be done manually through the coach/captain portal. Learn how to create squads here.

Starting November 24, the Analytics tab in the CrewLAB app will switch to display the challenge’s progress and leaderboard points, showcasing all squads in a competitive chart.

At the challenge’s culmination, achievements of the winning team, top-performing athletes, and most active contributors will be celebrated in the Winter Wipeout recap.

How you earn points

Participants earn points based on the time spent on various workout types, with each exercise contributing differently to the overall score.

Non-core sports (excluding rowing or running) earn points at 50% of the usual rate.

In addition to workouts, athletes earn points by engaging in positive social interactions. Likes, comments, and wellness check-ins all count.

Why coaches love Winter Wipeout

"Just on that one winter season we saw more workouts being done, more fitness being gained, erg scores dropping, and also team cohesion being tighter when we came back together in January"

Dan Wolleben

Bucknell University

“CrewLAB has allowed my athletes to get competitive with each other to see who’s the most consistent or who’s doing hardest workouts even when they’re all off campus.”

Jake Dacus
