FERPA compliance: While Slack can be configured for FERPA compliance (typically requiring Enterprise Grid plan), it’s not compliant by default. Your program is responsible for ensuring proper configuration and safeguards
SafeSport alignment: Slack doesn’t provide built-in features for SafeSport’s “open and transparent” communication requirements (automatically including parents/guardians on messages with minors)
Data risk: All messages, files, and shared information could be exposed in a data breach or legal investigation.
